It is our dream to go for gold with both the participants and organization. We will not settle for easily obtainable goals: we want more! We will host a tough but honoust competiton. In total eight FISU championship jerseys are to be won, in mountainbike cross country, marathon, individual time trial and road race. In co-operation with the sport directors from the Dutch Cycling Federation (KNWU) and WUC Cycling ambassador Marianne Vos, races courses will be laid out that will be of Olympic quality. These courses will be an inspiration for future race organizations.

Being responsible is a core value of our organization. Caring for the environment is an important part of this value and therefore it deserves special attention. We choose to implement innovative and sustainable logistic solutions during the event. For example, the mountainbike marathon course will be the first permanent marathon course in Europe. The course will be constructed to give athletes and partners the possibility to make use of it for many years to come. Our environment consists of more than nature alone, however. Therefore, everyone involved in making this WUC a success will receive the best care.

The manner in which this event will be experienced by participants, volunteers, partners and citizens of Nijmegen is another important aspect for the organization. A dedicated "athlete village" in the neighborhood of Nijmegen will provide the peace and quit every rider’s needs to be optimally prepared for the championships. At the same time, it will give those interested the opportunity to experience the beautiful landscape surrounding Nijmegen. The opening and closing ceremonies form an integral part of the cultural program, hence participants, volunteers, partners and citizens will get a closer look at Nijmegen’s culture and history. We will make sure that every participant has an unforgettable experience.
