Time trial >
The start of the time trial (23 May 2008) is located at the Waalkade, in the center of Nijmegen, alongside the river Waal. The track leads the riders along the Valkhof park, under the Waal bridge in the direction of the Ooijpolder. Once the cyclists enter the Ooijpolder, long roads at the embankments follow where the wind will play a significant role. During they're kilometers in the Ooijpolder, the riders will be come across some rich landscapes as the recreation area around the Bizonbaai and the Millingerwaard. Through the polder the rider continue there way to the border with Germany, which they will cross at approximately halfway the course. Once in Germany, long straight roads lead the riders via the German village of Wyler back to the Netherlands. Before the cyclists will pass the border a short but steep (12%) hillside is situated. After climbing that hillside the riders will confronted with the hilly surroundings of Nijmegen when they will have to climb the 2.5km long Holdeurn with an average slope of 3% and a maximum of 6%. Via Berg en Dal and the Oude Kleefsebaan the course leads back to the road race track and finishes at the Nijmeegsebaan.
Total length time trial course: 34.8 kilometers.
